Frequently Asked Questions
How do ADHD assessments work?
Our ADHD assessments include a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, review of your symptoms, medical history, and how ADHD affects your daily life at work, school, or home. We evaluate for ADHD while also considering other conditions that can cause similar symptoms.
Do you use ADHD testing?
Yes. When appropriate, we use evidence-based computerized cognitive testing as one part of the evaluation process. Testing helps provide additional objective information but is never used by itself to diagnose ADHD.
Do you prescribe stimulant medications?
Yes, when clinically appropriate. Stimulant medications are one treatment option for ADHD, but every recommendation is based on a comprehensive evaluation, your medical history, safety considerations, and your individual treatment goals.
Is medication required for ADHD treatment?
No. Medication is never required. Some patients benefit from medication, while others prefer behavioral strategies, executive function coaching, lifestyle changes, or a combination of treatments. We'll work together to create a personalized treatment plan.
How do I get started?
Getting started is easy. Schedule an initial psychiatric evaluation online, complete your intake forms, and meet with one of our providers. If an ADHD assessment is appropriate, we'll guide you through every step and discuss your treatment options afterward.
